Write for a Reader

This blog has taken off more than I could have ever imagined and for that I am truly grateful!  Starting with Edubloggers was a no brainer since I am a teacher and I had planned on using the blog for my students, parents, and other teachers in my building as a way to chronicle what was happening in our classroom.  Well, when I was asked to take another position, my blog took a turn as well.  Now I am blogging about books and loving it!  It is time for my blog to grow with me. 

Thanks to a great blogging buddy, Aerin, who blogs over at In Search of Giants, I will be moving over to Blogger very soon.  I will make sure to keep you all posted as to when that will take place, include the link to get there from here as well as send out emails and tweets about the new address.  Things will go on here as usual until that happens.  I hope you will make the move with me and enjoy the new site for this blog.

Things are starting to happen here at Write for a Reader, and things may be changing a little too. 

I recently listed my blog with Blogburst, and I’ve already been contacted by a publisher.  Woohoo!  Was I excited?  You bet!  Chronicle Books has published You Think It’s Easy Being the Tooth Fairy? by Sheri Bell-Rehwoldt.  Not only are they sending me a copy of the book to review, but I will also be interviewing the author on my blog.  MY BLOG – AN AUTHOR; I never dreamed it would happen this quickly.  I have to submit the questions tomorrow, so if you have any questions you’d like me to ask, please send them my way.

I did not get a review posted this week because I was finishing Breaking Dawn.  I’m through the Twilight Saga and on to other books in my TBR stack.  I will be reading and reviewing Creepers next.  I am hoping to get some children’s books in this week too.

I’ve told you before, that I think Aerin, from In Search of Giants, is an angel.  We emailed back and forth during the read-a-thon about making me a favicon to use.  Well, come to find out, I couldn’t get one because of the limitations of my host, Edublogs.  I started with them because my blog was originally intended to chronicle the happenings in my classroom, but I am not in a classroom and my blog has taken on a new direction.  One that I love, I might add.  After many discussions with Aerin, I found that Edublogs has limitations.  I don’t want to be limited with not being able to use buttons, HTML codes, etc.  So, Aerin and I are working together to get my blog somewhere else.  It will either be Wordpress or Blogger and as soon as it happens, I will post and link here as well as comment on other blogs, send emails, etc to get the word out.

I am excited about what is happening here and what is to come.  I hope you will enjoy it!
