Who I Am
I am a daughter, sister, wife, step-mother, grandmother, teacher, reader.
I live in Conroe, TX on 9 acres with my husband, 7 horses, and 3 dogs. I teach in the Cypress Fairbanks school district, where I’ve been for my teaching career of 12 years. I have been fortunate to teach 2nd grade – Math/Science, Kindergarten, and 3rd grade – LA/Social Studies. This year I do not have my own classroom as I am the Title I Reading Teacher. I go into classrooms and work with at-risk students on reading skills and strategies. I LOVE my job because I get to share my love of reading with students.
I am passionate about books. So much so that I continuously get asked, “Why aren’t you a school librarian?” I do have my Masters, but it is in Educational Leadership. That could change, but for right now I’m happy with what I’m doing and where I am in my career.
I started blogging in May ’08, but got real serious after school started in August ’08. I viewed my blog as a way to share what was going on in my classroom. Plans changed with a new job, and now I want it to be a place where I can review books and share reading “a-ha’s” from my students.

I just wanted to thank you for visiting my blog and commenting. I have bookmarked yours and look forward to cruising your pages!
P.S. I am also a HUGE animal lover, I have 1 dog, 3 cats, 1 rabbit, 1 gerbil and 1 rat. Quite a collection, but they are so much fun! What kind of dogs do you have? Mine is a toy rat terrier and weighs 9 pounds. We got her since we’re in an apartment and it wouldn’t be fair to get a bigger dog, but as soon as we have a house I plan on getting my dream dog, a Golden Retriever!
